What LetMeDrop does

LetMeDrop is a paid file-transfer service for photographers, videographers and other creative professionals who need to deliver large files to their clients. The service is not open to the public yet. The information on this page describes the service as it will be offered, and the prices and policies that will apply, when it opens.

How a transfer works

  1. The sender uploads one or more files — up to 500 files, up to 50 GB per file, and up to 100 GB in a single transfer.
  2. The sender chooses how long the download link stays active, from 2 to 30 days, and pays for the transfer. The price depends on the size of the transfer and on the period chosen; the full price table is below.
  3. The sender receives a download link and passes it on to the recipients.
  4. When the chosen period ends, the files are permanently deleted from our storage.

An account is not required in order to send a transfer. An account is required in order to use Drop & Charge or to hold a subscription plan.

Drop & Charge — an optional feature

A sender may require the recipients to pay before they are allowed to download the files. The sender sets that price, subject to a minimum of €0.99.

The recipient's payment is a transaction between the recipient and the sender. It is settled directly into a payment account that the sender holds in the sender's own name with our payment processor, and which the sender opens through the service. LetMeDrop never receives, holds or transmits that money, and charges no commission on it. The amount that reaches the sender is the price the sender set, less the payment processor's own fees, which the processor sets and publishes.

Senders using Drop & Charge are responsible for their own invoicing and tax obligations in respect of the amounts they receive.

What LetMeDrop is not

LetMeDrop is not cloud storage, a public file directory, or a permanent hosting service. Every transfer expires on a date chosen by the sender, never more than 30 days after it was created, and is then deleted. Transfers are not indexed, not browsable and not searchable: a transfer can only be reached through the link the sender chooses to share.

Prices

All prices on this page are in euro (EUR) and include Portuguese value-added tax at the standard rate of 23%. They take effect when the service opens.

Subscription plans are subject to a fair-use policy: up to 100 transfers and up to 1,024 GB in any rolling 30-day period, up to 200 GB held in active storage at any one time, and a maximum link duration of 30 days. A transfer that would take an account past the storage, volume or count limits is not refused: it can be completed at the pay-per-transfer prices above. The limit of 100 GB for a single transfer is a technical limit that applies to everyone.

Drop & Charge does not change what the sender pays. A sender who enables it pays the base price and the duration surcharge above, and nothing else: LetMeDrop charges no commission on the amount the recipient pays.

Refund policy

Refund requests are made by e-mail to info@letmedrop.com. This policy applies to purchases made from LetMeDrop. It does not apply to amounts a recipient pays to a sender under Drop & Charge, which are dealt with under Disputes below.

Refunds are made using the same means of payment as the original transaction, unless another means is expressly agreed, and within 14 days of the date on which we are informed of the request.

Right of withdrawal

A transfer is digital content that is supplied as soon as it is paid for. By starting a transfer, a consumer expressly asks us to begin supplying it immediately and acknowledges that this causes the 14-day right of withdrawal under Article 10 of Decree-Law 24/2014 to be lost, in accordance with Article 17(1)(l) of that Decree-Law. We confirm that consent and that acknowledgement in writing, by e-mail. The refund policy set out above is offered in addition to, and without prejudice to, any statutory right that is more favourable to the consumer.

Subscriptions are dealt with separately, under Cancellation below.

Cancellation policy

Cancelling a single transfer

A transfer can be cancelled by writing to info@letmedrop.com before it expires. Where it has not yet been shared and has not yet been downloaded, 50% of the amount paid is refunded, as set out above. Where the recipient has already been able to download the files, the service has been supplied and no refund is due.

Cancelling a subscription

Right of withdrawal on subscriptions

A consumer has 14 days from the conclusion of a subscription contract to withdraw from it under Article 10 of Decree-Law 24/2014, unless the consumer has expressly asked for the plan to start immediately and has expressly acknowledged, at that moment and separately from the acceptance of our terms, that doing so causes that right to be lost. Where the right of withdrawal applies, the full amount paid for the affected period is refunded within 14 days of the request, which is made by writing to info@letmedrop.com.

If a renewal payment fails

We try to charge the renewal up to three times over seven days, and tell the subscriber by e-mail each time an attempt fails. If all three attempts fail, the subscription ends on the seventh day and the account returns to pay-per-transfer use. A new subscription can be started at any time afterwards.

Disputes and chargebacks

Please write to info@letmedrop.com before opening a dispute with your bank or card issuer. Almost every problem is solved faster that way, and a refund that is due is paid within 14 days.

A payment made to LetMeDrop

This covers transfers and subscription plans. If a charge is not recognised, or a transfer did not work, tell us what happened and give the e-mail address used and the date. Where a refund is due under the refund policy above, it is paid to the original means of payment. Where a chargeback is raised with the card issuer instead, we respond to it through our payment processor with the records of the transfer.

A Drop & Charge payment made to a sender

When a recipient pays a sender under Drop & Charge, the payment is a transaction between those two parties and is settled into the sender's own payment account with our payment processor. Complaints about the files, and any refund of that amount, are therefore matters between the recipient and the sender.

If the recipient raises a chargeback with the issuer of the card or other payment instrument, the payment processor handles it against the sender's payment account under the processor's own terms, which the sender accepts directly with the processor when opening that account. Card networks commonly take two to three months to close a dispute of this kind, and in some countries the network rules do not allow the seller to challenge it at all. LetMeDrop is not a party to the dispute, does not decide its outcome and cannot reverse it.

Out-of-court dispute resolution

A consumer resident in the European Union who is not satisfied with our answer may refer the dispute to an alternative dispute resolution entity. The full list of the entities we are subject to, and the details of how to reach them, will be published in our Terms of Service when the service opens.

Privacy

The controller of the personal data described here is the person identified under Business details below. Questions about privacy, and requests to exercise the rights listed here, go to info@letmedrop.com.

This page

This page sets no cookies, runs no scripts, and uses no analytics and no tracking of any kind. It loads nothing from a third party: the logo and the font are served from this same address. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes connection data — including the IP address, the time of the request and the browser's user agent — in order to deliver the page and to protect it from attack. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating and securing this website (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR).

If you write to us

When you write to info@letmedrop.com we process your e-mail address and whatever your message contains, in order to answer you and to keep a record of the exchange. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in dealing with enquiries, and, where your message concerns a contract with us, the performance of that contract (Article 6(1)(b) and (f) of the GDPR). We keep that correspondence for as long as it may be needed for the purpose it was sent for, and for as long as any legal obligation requires.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for access to your personal data, and for its rectification or erasure; to ask for processing to be restricted; to object to processing based on legitimate interests; and to receive the data you gave us in a portable form. Write to info@letmedrop.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Portuguese supervisory authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD), or with the supervisory authority of the country where you live.

When the service opens

The service itself will process more than this page does — account details, the files that are uploaded, payment records and retention periods. A full privacy policy covering all of that will be published at this address before anyone can create an account.

Payment security

This website is served over HTTPS on every page and every request.

When the service opens, payments will be processed by our payment providers. Card details will be entered into fields hosted and served by the provider concerned, so LetMeDrop never sees, receives or stores card numbers — they do not pass through our servers and we cannot retrieve them. Each provider is subject to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) and is responsible for the security of the card data it handles.

We do not ask for payment details by e-mail and will never do so. If you receive a message that appears to come from LetMeDrop and asks for card details, it is not from us; please forward it to info@letmedrop.com.

Legal restrictions

Age. The service is available only to people aged 18 or over, because it involves financial transactions and requires full contractual capacity.

What may not be sent. The service may not be used to transmit content that is illegal under Union or Portuguese law; that infringes anyone's copyright, trade marks or other rights; that consists of child sexual abuse material, non-consensual intimate imagery or material that glorifies or facilitates terrorism; that is defamatory, harassing, threatening or that incites violence or hatred; that contains malware of any kind; that is designed to circumvent technical protection measures; that breaches export-control law or international sanctions; or that is sent as unsolicited commercial communication.

Reporting illegal content. Anyone can report content they consider illegal by writing to info@letmedrop.com, which is our point of contact for the purposes of the Digital Services Act (Regulation (EU) 2022/2065). Reports are assessed and the person who reported the content, and the person who uploaded it, are told what was decided and why.

Where the service is available. The service is operated from Portugal and is not offered where its use would be unlawful, including in countries subject to Union or international sanctions that prohibit it.
